Converting Environmental Challenges into Sustainable Energy
THE "GREENEST CHARCOAL" STORY
What is Bush Encroachment?

Bush encroachment is a major environmental challenge leading to severe land degradation in Namibia’s semi-arid regions. Currently, over 45 million hectares of agricultural land are affected by this phenomenon.

The dense thickening of bush decreases biodiversity, degrades the structure of ecological ecosystems, lowers the grasslands’ carrying capacity for wildlife and cattle, and negatively impacts groundwater recharge.

How We Help: Turning a Problem into a Solution

At Carbo Nile Namibia Exporters CC, we view this challenge as an opportunity. Our charcoal production is 100% deforestation-free. Instead of cutting down forests, we harvest these invasive encroaching bushes.

By doing so, we achieve critical environmental milestones:

  • Ecological Restoration: Harvesting helps restore the original ecological value of the soil.

  • Fire Prevention: Clearing the bush reduces the intensity and frequency of dangerous veld fires.

  • Biodiversity Support: Restored land allows cattle and wild animals to roam and graze freely again.

This approach has rightfully earned Namibian charcoal the title of “The Greenest Charcoal” in the world.

SOCIAL IMPACT & COMMUNITY

Our commitment goes beyond the environment; it is deeply rooted in the community. The charcoal industry is a vital source of livelihood in our region.

  • Job Creation: We create stable, long-term employment for local indigenous people.

  • Economic Growth: By processing and exporting local resources, we contribute directly to the economic stability and growth of the Omaruru region and Namibia as a whole.

OUR EXPORT PROCESS
FROM SOURCE TO SHIPMENT

Strategic Sourcing

We start by sourcing raw material only from the best quality FSC and NON-FSC certified local Namibian producers. We carefully select our partners to ensure the integrity of the product from the very beginning.

Automated Processing

Our facility in Omaruru is equipped with a fully automated, high-end production line. Our dedicated team sifts and sorts the lump charcoal into precise classes, ranging from BBQ to Premium Restaurant Grade, ensuring consistency in every bag.

Custom Packaging

Once sorted, each order is packed according to the client’s specific request. We offer a wide range of packaging options, including the ability to produce and fill your own custom-branded bags (Private Label).

Secure Palletizing

Your order is carefully stacked on wooden pallets and professionally wrapped. We prioritize stability and safety to ensure the cargo withstands long-distance transport without damage.

Global Logistics

Once loaded via forklifts, the cargo is transported directly to the Walvis Bay Harbour. From there, it is exported efficiently to destinations across 4 continents.
